The Episode One Podcast

The Episode One Podcast talks about a different Pilot, or first episode of a Television show in each episode. We discuss the show from the perspective of a fan and a writer. We then unfairly judge the rest of the series based solely on it's pilot.

Got a triple threat this week. First we finally tackle Stargirl! It's been out for awhile, but we've been excited to talk about it since it features a comic character we both know, but haven't read the books.

Then with the premiere of Doom Patrol Season 2 on HBO Max, we go back and finally watch the pilot. Another comic book show, and right up our alley in the world of different ones, like Legion and Umbrella Academy.

Finally, a quick look at Matthew Rhys as Perry Mason, Chris and Steve are split on this one, but a fun watch.

All this plus crossovers and 30 second pitches: What prequel shows with a dark spin do we want to see?

Two recent shows that got a little overlooked after the events of the last few weeks. We wanted to dive in and enjoy a little comedy.

Space Force comes to us from Greg Daniels, starring a star studded cast!

Love Life features a perennial contender for America's Sweetheart: Anna Kendrick!

We also return to doing Crossovers and 30 second pitches!

In a somber moment for America. Steve and Chris wanted to find a way to honor and add to the empathy of what's going on in the aftermath of the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery.

We watched the first episodes of "Dear White People" "When They See Us" and "#BlackAF" to listen and understand the systemic issues of Race and Racism from the lens of Black Creators.
